Bran Banana Muffins

​1 cup wheat bran
¾ cup buttermilk
1 egg
1 cup brown sugar
2 tbsp butter, softened
3 over ripe bananas
¾ cup whole wheat flour
¼ cup ground flax seed
1 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp sea salt

In a small bowl, mix buttermilk and bran together. In a separate bowl,
​beat egg, bananas and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Stir in bran
​mixture. Stir in last 5 ingredients and pour into greased muffin pan.
​Bake at 400° F for 15-20 minutes.
