Date Squares
3 ½ cups dates, diced
¼ cup orange juice
½ cup brown sugar
Water to cover the dates
Mix all ingredients in a medium sauce pan. Cook at medium
to low heat until mixture is thick.
1 cup unbleached flour
1 cup butter
½ tsp baking soda
2 cups oatmeal
1 cup brown sugar
Cut the butter into flour then add the other ingredients. Put half of the
crumble into a greased 9 by 13 pan. Put date mixture on top and cover
with the rest of the crumble. Bake at 350° F for 25 to 30 minutes.
